San Clemente Military Family Outreach

We are an outreach providing support and assistance to military members and their dependents, with special attention being given to the young families stationed at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. Most of these Marine families are living far from home and relatives. Our Military Family Outreach allows communities in Southern California to become their military families’ local family; to offer friendship, sponsor morale events, provide assistance with financial needs such as groceries, infant diapers, formula, cribs and car seats, car repairs and other emergency requests, school supplies, and counseling. Military members needing assistance may simply call – see the number below.

The Friends of San Onofre Marines served our local military families for the past five years. When Col William and Mrs Sidonia McReynolds, founders of FOSOM, announced their decision to retire from assistance work, the San Clemente Military Family Outreach was formed, to carry on their work.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to generate and coordinate community resources, to provide service and assistance to any military service members, active duty, reserve status, or recently discharged, and their dependents.

The SCMFO is a non-profit organization run by an all volunteer board and staff. Many of our volunteers have previously served on active duty. The group operates out of space granted by St. Andrew’s By-the-Sea United Methodist Church in San Clemente. SCMFO funds are managed by an established Foundation, a 501c3, in a fund established solely for the SCMFO use. The SCMFO partners with other non-profit organizations to accomplish its goals.
